Beauty Therapy – Level 3 Diploma

About The Course

This study programme covers a range of advanced beauty treatments, including specialised electrical face and body treatments, and electrolysis. You will also develop skills in general beauty therapy treatments, such as head and body massage for relaxation and stress relief.

The course includes a business-focus, and covers how to effectively manage a salon, the importance of health and safety, and promoting products and services.

You will have plenty of opportunity to practise what you are learning on real customers in our salon, under the guidance of professional beauty experts. In addition, you will gain an understanding of the relevant anatomy and physiology and will further develop your English skills.

You will need:

  • Beauty Therapy – Level 2 Diploma, or equivalent
  • GCSE English at grade 4 or above
  • Work experience or a work placement in a beauty spa or salon

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

You will be assessed on the practical work that you do in the beauty salon as well as through observations, an e-portfolio, online testing, assignments and oral questioning.

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. On successful completion of this course, you could progress to higher education, an apprenticeship or other employment.

WHEN SHOULD I APPLY?
We recommend you apply at least three months before the programme starts to guarantee your place. The application form will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete.

WHEN WILL I HEAR BACK FROM YOU?
We’ll acknowledge receipt of your application by email within 48 hours, if it’s received during normal working hours (Mon-Fri – 09:00-18:00 GMT). We will review and respond to your application within two working days. We do this in order of receipt and acceptance is not automatic.

CAN I RESERVE A PLACE?

WHAT ARE YOUR LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS?
The programme is taught in English, so a good working knowledge of the language is essential. If English is not your first language, we may ask you for evidence of your proficiency.
