Plumbing – Level 1 Diploma

About The Course

This course offers the City and Guilds 7202 qualification, and will allow you to gain an introduction to plumbing, giving you the basic fundamental practical skills and knowledge required by someone aspiring to be a plumber. It covers all the essential basic skills and knowledge you’ll need to start working as a plumber, or engineer specialising in heating or ventilation. The course consists of practical and theory assignments and training to give you a good foundation from which to begin work or continue studying.

  • Plumbing science

  • Environmental sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
  • Site preparation in the construction industry

You do not need to have any previous qualifications.

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

You will be assessed on your completed practical tasks, against industry standards. Written assessment will include multiple choice questions, paper-based exams and written assignments.

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. From this course you can progress onto Level 2 in Heating and Plumbing, subject to full completion of the Level 1 and a satisfactory level of attendance.

WHEN SHOULD I APPLY?
We recommend you apply at least three months before the programme starts to guarantee your place. The application form will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete.

WHEN WILL I HEAR BACK FROM YOU?
We’ll acknowledge receipt of your application by email within 48 hours, if it’s received during normal working hours (Mon-Fri – 09:00-18:00 GMT). We will review and respond to your application within two working days. We do this in order of receipt and acceptance is not automatic.

CAN I RESERVE A PLACE?

WHAT ARE YOUR LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS?
The programme is taught in English, so a good working knowledge of the language is essential. If English is not your first language, we may ask you for evidence of your proficiency.
