About The Course

Skin Tanning Techniques Level 2 Award is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills to provide self tanning services to specific areas of the body

You will learn about manual and spray tanning treatments and how to use professional tanning products, tan gun and compressor. You will also learn about the contra-indications to tanning treatments, key ingredients and the benefits of the treatment.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in tanning application and beauty therapy and will provide you with the foundation for further learning.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need:

  • English at Level 1

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be assessed on the practical work that you do in the beauty salon, as well as observations, an e-portfolio, on-line testing, assignments and oral questioning.

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

On successful completion of the course, you can develop your skills further through progression to the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy General or the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy Make-Up

APPLICATION PROCESS

WHEN SHOULD I APPLY?
We recommend you apply at least three months before the programme starts to guarantee your place. The application form will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete.

WHEN WILL I HEAR BACK FROM YOU?
We’ll acknowledge receipt of your application by email within 48 hours, if it’s received during normal working hours (Mon-Fri – 09:00-18:00 GMT). We will review and respond to your application within two working days. We do this in order of receipt and acceptance is not automatic.

CAN I RESERVE A PLACE?

WHAT ARE YOUR LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS?
The programme is taught in English, so a good working knowledge of the language is essential. If English is not your first language, we may ask you for evidence of your proficiency.
