ICT SYSTEMS SUPPORT – LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA

ABOUT THE COURSE
This practical course will develop your technical IT skills, giving you specialist ICT skills relating to PC building, upgrading and maintenance, enabling you to progress into a career in ICT support and IT Infrastructure Technician.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

This qualifications will provide underpinning knowledge and recognise skills in Systems Support, and telecommunications in the workplace which will help to tailor employees’ knowledge to their specific job role.

  • Networking Principles
  • Systems architecture
  • Web fundamentals
  • Install and Configure ICT
WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need:

  • Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English Language and Maths or equivalent Level 1 qualification

All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
You will be assessed via a portfolio of your written and practical assignments. There will also be online testing to assess your key skills.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

You could progress onto :

  • ICT BTEC Level 3 Diploma equivalent to two A Levels
  • ICT BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (120 Credits) equivalent to three A Levels
  • Access to Higher Education Information Technology (IT) Diploma Level 3 
  • A Level 3 Apprenticeship programme
APPLICATION PROCESS

WHEN SHOULD I APPLY?
We recommend you apply at least three months before the programme starts to guarantee your place. The application form will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete.

WHEN WILL I HEAR BACK FROM YOU?
We’ll acknowledge receipt of your application by email within 48 hours, if it’s received during normal working hours (Mon-Fri – 09:00-18:00 GMT). We will review and respond to your application within two working days. We do this in order of receipt and acceptance is not automatic.

CAN I RESERVE A PLACE?

WHAT ARE YOUR LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS?
The programme is taught in English, so a good working knowledge of the language is essential. If English is not your first language, we may ask you for evidence of your proficiency.
