ACCOUNTING - LEVEL 4 PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA (AAT)

ABOUT THE COURSE

AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting equips you with expert skills and knowledge, preparing you to become a fully qualified accounting technician. The course is run as a day release programme over a duration of 18-24 months. The topics covered in this course will give students the opportunity to learn how to complete professional accounting tasks including drafting financial statements, managing budgets, and evaluating financial performance.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Core topics:

  • Applied Management Accounting
  • Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements
  • Internal Accounting Systems and Controls

Optional Units:

  • Personal Tax
  • Credit and Debt Management
WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will need also need:

  • English and Maths GCSE at grades 5 and above or the equivalent FS Level 2 in both English and Maths
  • Candidates must hold an AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma with a Merit Grade

All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

All units are externally examined via computer-based assessments

WHAT WILL IT COST?

AGED 16-18

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

ADULTS – LEVEL 4

If you will be aged 19+ before the start date of your course and plan to study a Further Education course at Level 4, and you are out of work or on a low income, your study with us may be free. Otherwise, you may have to pay the fees yourself or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

One-off AAT registration fee of £240.00 plus the cost of textbooks per unit.  The cost of textbooks will depend on the individual publishers.  The One-off registration fee provides access to the qualification for its lifetime, typically four to five years

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

Upon completion, you can work in accounting roles, or work towards chartered accountancy status with one of the professional bodies such as ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW. You can also choose to progress to University to further your studies in Accounting.
