About The Course

This course will help you develop your practical skills to an advanced level through a variety of Advanced Cutting Techniques to enhance and personalise the clients look, Artistic colouring Techniques to provide a range of looks, styling techniques and Colour Correction Techniques. You will develop knowledge and understanding of Monitoring and Maintaining Health and Safety Practices throughout the treatments above and develop your promotion and selling of products and services to your clients.

Mandatory units

  • Monitor and maintain health and safety
  • Hairdressing consultation support for colleagues
  • Colour Hair to create a variety of looks
  • Cut women’s hair to create a variety of looks
  • Style and Dress hair using a variety of techniques
  • Promote products and services to clients
  • Hair Colour Correction
  • Bridal Hair Styling

All units have Exams and or Assignments attached alongside practical Assessments

 

You will need:

  • To have a good understanding of English at L2 enabling you to sit exams and complete assignments.
  • Any L2 or Level 2 equivalent Qualification previously achieved in any subject.

You will be Assessed through Practical Observation, Online Exams and through completed Assignments.

School Leavers

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, it will be free. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. Adults

Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2
If you will be aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, and have been resident in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years, your course may be free, depending on your circumstances. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips. You can progress into the industry and work in a salon with these qualifications.

WHEN SHOULD I APPLY?
We recommend you apply at least three months before the programme starts to guarantee your place. The application form will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete.

WHEN WILL I HEAR BACK FROM YOU?
We’ll acknowledge receipt of your application by email within 48 hours, if it’s received during normal working hours (Mon-Fri – 09:00-18:00 GMT). We will review and respond to your application within two working days. We do this in order of receipt and acceptance is not automatic.

CAN I RESERVE A PLACE?

WHAT ARE YOUR LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS?
The programme is taught in English, so a good working knowledge of the language is essential. If English is not your first language, we may ask you for evidence of your proficiency.
